Tempting the Player
Valley U was supposed to be my fresh start after I escaped the glitz and glam of Hollywood.
I didn’t want to be the former child star who graced TV screens across the world.
I wanted to feel normal.
When the same hot guy runs past my off-campus house every day, I assume he’s another college student.
When he protects me from boys who still think of me as the character from their teenage dreams, I think he is being kind.
When my past comes back to haunt me, he makes me feel safe.
I’m falling hard and fast for a guy I barely know.
Until I realize my mysterious new crush has a secret.
He was hired to be my undercover bodyguard.'
Tempting the Player, the final installment in the Campus Wallflower series, is everything fans could have hoped for—and more. This series has been consistently engaging, and it ends on a high note with a story that feels both satisfying and full of possibility.
This time, the spotlight is on college student Jane and her irresistibly grumpy (and undeniably attractive) bodyguard. The twist? Jane has no idea he’s been assigned to protect her, which adds a compelling layer of tension and intrigue to their dynamic. Their chemistry is immediate, and the push-and-pull between them keeps the story moving at a brisk, addictive pace.
The novel is fast-paced and packed with moments that will keep readers hooked from beginning to end. At the same time, it plants just enough intrigue to leave you wondering if this truly is the end—or the beginning of something new. If this book is any indication, there’s plenty of potential for a spin-off series, and it’s easy to see why readers are already hoping for more.
The chemistry between Hendrick and Jane is absolutely irresistible, with banter that’s both charming and electric from the start. Hendrick is the perfect grumpy hero: intelligent, sexy, and emotionally guarded, carrying the weight of some major life decisions on his shoulders. As his attraction to Jane grows, he struggles with wanting her while convincing himself that getting too close could put her in danger.
Where do I even begin with how great this book is? I absolutely loved it. Having Hendrick be a little older and already beyond the typical college mindset added such a refreshing dynamic to the story. Following this friend group all the way to the end of the series has been such a fun and exciting journey, and I’m definitely going to miss them.
Watching Jane—an absolute powerhouse—grow throughout this book was a whirlwind in the best way, and she definitely found her perfect match in our leading man. Their dynamic was everything. But honestly? After meeting Hendrick’s wild family, I can’t help but think there’s major potential for a brand-new series there… and I would read every single book.
