'I have a type.
I love the good guy.
Responsible and stable. Safe.
So when a beer-drinking, quick-witted, tattooed hockey player asks me to tutor him, I'm suddenly thrust into the world of bad boys and bad decisions.
Jordan is a renowned player on campus.
He doesn’t take anything seriously, except hockey and partying.
But he gives me butterflies.

I’m a wallflower tutoring Valley University’s hottest player.'

Tutoring the Player is the first book in the Campus Wallflower series, and like all of Rebecca Jenshak’s books, it can be read as a standalone. Buckle up and get ready to re-enter the Valley U world — this story has a little bit of everything.

This time, the story follows shy Daisy and charming playboy Jordan — but it could have gone a very different way. At first, Daisy has her eye on Liam, the polite and proper jock in her lab class. Jordan, meanwhile, is just Liam’s mischievous teammate… or so it seems.

But when Jordan becomes intrigued by the pretty wallflower, he sets a clever little plan in motion: he asks Daisy to tutor him, keeping her away from Liam. Of course, sparks fly, and romance quickly ensues.

Watching Jordan and Daisy slowly get to know each other is one of the best parts of the book. Their opinions of each other shift in such a natural, believable way. There’s no instalove here, but there is definitely some instant attraction… which might have something to do with a certain dress 👀 You’ll see.

“𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞?”

Jordan 🏒

It was absolutely treat to see Jordan, the notorious player, let the shy Daisy take the initiative, even when his urges were strong. Never one to hold back, he still steps back and lets her lead, making sure not to rush her. Seeing this sensible, considerate side of him made me fall for him just like Daisy did.

Daisy 📖

Daisy is quiet and reserved. She’s smart, pretty, and never one to make a fuss—but deep down, she secretly wants to be noticed, just not by everyone. She’s happy with her little gang of wallflowers, watching romantic movies, dressing up, and admiring the popular jocks from afar.

They’re opposites in so many ways, which leads to some genuinely sexy moments between the passionate player and his tentative, less-experienced girl. And, as usual with Rebecca Jenshak’s books, you get a real feel for the full college experience—classes, parties, dorm life, sports events, and the ins and outs of college hierarchy. There wasn’t much sports action this time, but the excitement was definitely off the ice.

💭💭💭

I really enjoyed reading Tutoring the Player. I loved the concept of this series—focusing on shy, quiet young women discovering who they are, all while being supported by a strong and amazing circle of friends. While this story wasn’t centred heavily around the ice rink, it captured the college vibe perfectly, giving a real sense of classes, dorm life, and the overall college experience.
