So we begin a brand-new series in the world of Wildcat Hockey romance books. The Wildcat Hockey series takes readers out of the college setting and into the fast-paced world of professional NHL hockey. This story introduces us to our leading man, Leo Lohan, and of course our leading lady, Scarlett. If those names sound familiar, that’s because readers of Wild Love were given a little tease of these characters in that book—making their full story even more exciting to dive into.

This book takes us down the deliciously dramatic road of forbidden love—because everyone knows you definitely shouldn’t be dating your coach’s daughter. But Leo is about to learn that lesson the hard way, and honestly? I loved every single minute of it.

“I’m officially distracted. Besides, everyone deserves to have someone risk going to jail for them. I love you, dream girl. I have a lot of bail money.”

Leo Lohan 🏒

Leo Lohan is a professional NHL hockey player and star forward for the Minnesota Wildcats. Hockey has always been his entire world, leaving little room for much else since going pro. When Scarlett discovers that he’s completely off-limits, the real question becomes: can she stay away and keep her distance?

Final Thoughts 

What a fantastic start to a new series—this book had everything I could ask for. Leo was the kind of book boyfriend every reader dreams about, and Scarlet was exactly my favourite type of leading lady: strong, stubborn, and completely headstrong in the best way.

The balance of romance and spice was spot on, adding just the right amount of heat without overwhelming the story. I also loved how refreshing it was to step out of the college setting and into the “real world” for this one—it gave the story a more mature and grounded feel that really worked for me.

If this first book is anything to go by, it’s only the tip of the iceberg for what’s to come in this series, and I cannot wait to see where the rest of the story goes.
